Basics Film Camera & Film Processing Workshop

Learn how to use your SLR or film camera, including loading film and basic settings such as aperture and shutter speed. Bring any film camera and roll of black and white film of your choosing. After shooting a roll of film together, learn to develop one roll of black and white film into negatives from start to finish.

You bring your own camera and a roll of film.

This class is for developing film only. We do not go into the darkroom with the red lights in this class. (See our FAQ if you’re unsure!)

Learn how to take photos and use your film camera. Shoot a roll of film together, then develop the film into negatives. You may bring any still film camera and black and white roll of film of your choosing.

  • Loading film into your camera and film selection.

  • Camera basics: aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc.

  • Shooting film (35mm, 120mm, or 4x5, depending on your preference).

  • Learning how to develop your film from start to finish.

  • Take home your developed negatives.
