In honor of World Cyanotype day, join us in learning how to make cyanotype prints, which produce rich blue prints with brilliant highlights. We will cover chemistry mixing, print coating, and printing. At the end of the workshop, we invite you to practice printing on cloth squares as well. This experimental medium varies greatly from piece to piece, and each student will take their cyanotype square home with them to use in any projects they would like!
Participants will need to bring their own print materials which can range from physical objects to large format negatives. Get creative! Using items of varying textures and transparency can lead to exciting results. If you would like to use a digital image, please contact us at least 7 days before your class so that we can prepare a digital negative for you.
All experience levels welcome! You’ll create anywhere from 2-4 images to take home with you at the end of the day. All chemistry and paper provided. All you need to bring are your printmaking materials.
